How do I play videos (.mpg) with Internet Explorer 7?

Whenever I click on a video link in IE7 I get an error to check my connection. The only way I can view a video is to right-click on it, save it and open Windows Media Player separately from Internet Explorer. I would like to have the videos open when I click the link instead of saving them. WMP is my default media player.

Is there some setting within IE7 I'm missing?

Associate file extension .mpg, .mpeg with WM player.

In "My Computer", go to tools, folder options, file types and associate the above files with player of your choice.
